Warm water species take center stage at this time of the year.  The Niagara Area offers some of the finest opportunities for catching world class Bass, Walleye, and Muskie.  Fish the lower Niagara for the hard-fighting Small Mouth Bass.  Drift along the scenic river for Bass that average 2 to 3 lbs., with fish taken to 6 lbs. each year.  50 to 100 fish days are the rule.  Walleye up to 13 lbs. are reeled in each season, and fish in the 8 lb. range are common.  Muskie fishing starts in July with fish up to 52 inches available.

Lake Erie Bass Fishing

Lake Erie is also dynamite during this timeframe as Smallmouth Bass school up on the offshore rock piles in big numbers.  Lake Erie’s Bass season opens the 1st Saturday in May.  A full 6 weeks before the rest of the state.  Customers are often rewarded with the best Bass fishing day of their lives.  Bass up to 7.4 lbs. have been taken with 5lb. fish taken almost daily.  Not only good size bass are caught, but also in good numbers: 50 to 100 fish days are possible.  Lake Erie’s Big Bass potential is world-renowned.  If it’s Big Bass that you want, there is no better time or place!
